What are TouchPoints?
UAB Hospital is excited to introduce UAB TouchPoints, a new donor recognition program. Here's how it works:
- Each donor will earn 10,000 UAB TouchPoints for every successful donation.
- Once the donor has 50,000 UAB TouchPoints (five successful donations), they may elect to exchange those points for various items.
- There are specific items available for every level of donation...i.e, 50,000 - 60,000 - 70,000, etc.
- Collect 120,000 TouchPoints and choose a "Get-a-Way" gift package. This package can be used towards lodging, meals, on-site amenities offered by the hotel - including spa, golf, tennis, etc. *Transportation not included.
- A newly designed T-shirt will be given to each donor. Other give-away items include hats, mugs, and pens.
New Donor Room
Located on the second floor concourse of UAB Hospital's North Pavilion, next to Starbucks and the new gift shop, the 1,743 square foot space boasts four state-of-the-art E chairs, each with a built-in computer and 19” flat screen. Donors can watch TV or DVDs, or surf the Internet while donating. There is also a 42" LCD TV screen in the guest waiting area.
Able to process eight donors per hour, the new donor room is the next step in the ambitious goal of the UAB/Red Cross partnership to make UAB self-sufficient in blood collection.
Donors can make an appointment to donate at www.givelife.org, sponsor code 'UAB'. And remember: Bring a photo ID when donating blood!
